Here's our step by step guide on how to make giant marshmallow pops dipped in chocolate & sprinkles. Yummy!
What you will need:
Click Giant Marshmallow Pops Kit
and 1-3 tablespoons vegetable oil
85g Candy melts or chocolate
1-3 tablespoons vegetable oil
First cut a small slit in the top of each marshmallow.
This will allow you to insert your paper straw into each one.
Insert your paper straws.
Once all of your straws have been inserted, place them in a tray or similar and pop them in the freezer for 5-10 minutes.
By doing this, the marshmallow is adhered more securely to the straw.
Whilst your marshmallows are freezing, you can melt the chocolate.
For best results, I would suggest you use a microwave.
Place your chocolate in a microwavable container, set your microwave to DEFROST for 1 minute. Once your chocolate has started to melt in the microwave (make sure you take it out after one minute), stir in 1-3 tablespoons of vegetable oil. This helps to thin the chocolate so you can cover your marshmallows evenly.
Continue to melt your chocolate in 30 second intervals until it becomes smooth and runny. Be careful not to burn the chocolate by heating it up for too long as it can burn easily.
Put your sprinkles in a bowl large enough to dip the marshmallows in. Dip the frozen marshmallows in your melted chocolate and then tap the excess chocolate off.
The frozen marshmallow will make the chocolate harden quickly so don't wait too long before dipping them in to your sprinkles.
Now for the fun bit and where you can get the kids involved if you like? Decorating...
Dip your marshmallows in your sprinkles.
Once you have dipped your marshmallow pops, put them in a jug or similar to stand them up.
If your looking for take home party favour ideas, then these are perfect wrapped up in cellophane and ribbon and given out to your party guests as a thank you!
