I'm so excited as I've been asked by a friend to organise her daughter's joint birthday party in June this year.
We agreed on the Vintage Ice Cream party theme as each girl has a preference for pink and the other blue, so it seemed the perfect choice as the theme has both these colours running throughout.
I've started to put some ideas together which I thought I would share with you. It's so much fun looking at cakes, decorations, party bag fillers and mixing and matching all the tableware to create a really inspiring ice cream party and table for everyone to enjoy.
I really love the candy stripes and retro feel from Kara's Party Ideas and the Ice Cream Social party theme she put together..
I also love this fab ice cream cone cake, it looks great fun to make and would create real impact on the table.
Another great party for inspiration by Hostess with the Mostess, has all sorts of great ideas for laying out the table and decorations.

I also found these DIY ice cream cone balloons ideas from The Craft Dept, Martha Stewart and Spearmint Baby, I thought these would be fun as decorations and easy to make by just adding a paper cone and ribbon.
Bunting is a great way to add a bit of colour to a party so on this occasion I'm going to use our own as it's reversible, one side with Happy Birthday and the reverse with an ice cream image.
Once we've finished using it at the party, my friend will then hang it on the wall of the girls playroom.
For the party table, you can add as many different flavours of ice cream and sprinkles as you like.
For this party I'm going to use my favourite sprinkles, vanilla fudge, chocolate buttons, mini marshmallows, chocolate drops and mini stars. I'll fill small treat cups with the various sprinkles and the children can have fun creating their own ice cream sundae.
Candy stripe party plates & cups will set the theme off perfectly and to finish off I'll use matching treat cups which I will fill individually with jelly, ice cream and the sprinkles for the ice cream sundaes.
I also came across these ice cream cone cupcakes from pgeveryday, really fun and a great alternative to ice cream at the party.
I then looked at party bags, and these Sambellina treat boxes match perfectly with the theme. I've then designed a thank you tag which I made by hand using my scallop paper punch and tied to the party box with a pretty pink ribbon.
For the party bag fillers, I picked ice cream bubbles and a wooden ice cream cone colouring in magnet.
As well as the bubbles and magnets for the party bags, prizes are being given and for this I've suggested an ice cream colouring in gift set and a mini jigsaw, great as party gifts or prizes.
